In my recent visit to Ranthambore, we had a very pleasant sighting in our initial game drives and these were not of Tigers. But of the leopards
Driving down the jungle enjoying the smell of the earth as drops of rain hit the ground. The calm forest with the sound of the birds was so soothing and out of the blue we heard the haunam langur calling, we stopped and started moving towards the sound and it started growing louder and fast. And there was a female leopard walking on top of the mountain shining in the golden rays of the sun. What was mind-blowing came to us the next day when we were in Zone 3 on a hot sunny afternoon waiting for Riddhi to make a move so that we can witness her bold and courageous style as she patrolled her territory.
After waiting for a while as we could just see a glimpse of her in the bushes and the dears strolling around malik talo. Riddhi appeared from nowhere chasing the deers to make a kill. She was unwell the previous week and seeing her doing the chase was like a surprise. She was quite close to our vehicle. Ranthambore National Park. Where we had maintained a distance and saw her do all sorts of things for 1,5 hrs. It was a lovely day. In our remaining safaris, we saw Sloth bears multiple times and birding was superb.

Importance of guides during the Ranthambore National Park safari
The guides and the drivers are locals who were residing in the forest for generations and know each and every route that is available by law for viewing the wildlife. Since their family has adapted to the human and animal conflicts they know how to behave with the animals and what is their likely behavior in a given situation. These are one of the finest tiger trackers that you can bet on for a great sighting. A few have outgrown as they learned in their journey as a guide and have become popular.
